Re: Our king charles
There are and always will be those who will attempt to find nonexistent problems with such events.
Why, who knows other than them.
From my perspective what I saw was the same as in 53 with just a few minor differences.
But I could not give a rats as to what these people think, bunch of Tossers and WOKE monsters no doubt.

The Republicans still want to change things though never mind the cost or that wonderful example, Trump.
Missed the last coronation due to being homeward bound from Cape Town.

I remember the coronation of King George V1 but no TV of course, used to see his father and Queen Mary most weeks as they drove though Chiswick on their way to Windsor.

Re: Our king charles
#75 Donald Trump was not on the guest list as far as I am aware. No serving USA presidents have attended UK Coronations, Unless the BBC have got that wrong.
I doubt Trump would have been on the guest list. The man is pig ignorant he showed absolutely no respect to the late Queen. Blatantly walking in front of the Queen when he was on his so called state visit when he was president. Regardless of it being the Queen or not no decent person would behave like that in the company of some one as old as the Queen.
If the Duke of Edinburgh had no problem maintaining a respectful distance behind the Queen that prick Trump could at least have walked alongside her Majesty and not leave her looking at his back.

Re: Our king charles
When you take the hand of the Queen to shake or kiss whatever your tendencies to the fairer sex are , you know exactly when to let her have it back as she lets you know without saying so . You are informed of the secret handshake before making her personal acquaintance . Keating would have been told also , so he didn’t do it in ignorance , even though he is an ignorant man even marrying into the third Reich . JS

Re: Our king charles
The republicans here in Oz are so impressed by Willliam and Kate they have said they would be prepared to continue with them as the monarchy.
What many here do not understand is that since a decree by the high court in1907 the Governor General is head of state, not the monarch.
But the Monarch is head of the Commonwealth so Monarch of all nations there in.
Should we eer here in Oz become a republic the Monarch then would still be Monarch of Oz.
