Warwick Castle launched 38, completed 1939, was requisitioned by the Admiralty as troop carrier.
1942 sold to the Admiralty and converted to an Aircraft Carrier by Swan Hunter.
After the war purchased by U. C. sent Harland & Wolff, Belfast and converted to a passenger ship and renamed WARWICK CASTLE.

CLAN DAVIDSON ordered by Clan Line, nearing completion and taken over by the Admiralty.
Completed as HMS BONAVENTURE and converted a mini submarine mother ship.
1948 returned to Clan Line and renamed CLAN DAVIDSON.

The Avonmoor built at Doxfords Sunderland 43/44 on the likes of an Empire boat and a 3 cylinder Doxfords where I had the opportunity of serving 2.5 years of my time.She was I am told the second ship into Singapore after the Japanese surrender , probably to test the approaches for mines .JS

Port Vindex was converted in to an auxiliary aircraft carrier, and had a hell of a war, according to the photographs in the passenger hallway. Such a happy ship!

Breckonshire (1) 1939 requisitioned as HMS Breckonshire, 1942 bombed and sunk at Malta. 9,776
Breckonshire (2) 1940 1941 requisitioned and renamed Empire Activity, 1942 became HMS Activity, 1946 returned to Glen Line renamed Breckonshire, 1967 scrapped.

Glengarry (3) 1940 1940 seized by Germans at Copenhagen renamed Meersburg, 1942 converted to minelayer renamed Hansa, 1945 recovered by Britain renamed Empire Humber, 1946 returned to Glen Line reverted to Glengarry, 1970 transferred to Blue Funnel Line renamed Dardanus (6), 1971 reverted to Glengarry for voyage to breakers.

My late father, Captain T. Roy Parsons, began his seafaring career as a cadet on Clan Colquhoun in February 1944 at the age of 17. Determined to avoid the very real threat of conscription as a Bevin Boy, he pleaded with his parents to fulfil his ambition of a life at sea, considering the Atlantic convoys far less frightening than going down a coalmine! The Clan Colquhoun (originally SS Gallic built 1918) was operated by the Ministry of Transport as a refrigerated cargo ship during WWII and despite near misses escaped damage. Wikipedia gives what seems a full account history pre, during and post war, though I note it is only the Atlantic route that is mentioned from 1933 to 1947, but my father sailed on her on a Pacific voyage to New Zealand, I think in 1946-7, a voyage that proved life-changing for him as he met my mother, a member of the New Zealand Navy League which had put on a social event to welcome the officers and crew in recognition of their bravery during the War. Introduced to my motheas a shy cadet by his Chief Officer, he was pulled on to the dance floor, and on the remaining 7 days the ship was docked in Littleton Harbour, they met each day. The whirlwind romance lasted through 2 years of letter writing, while my mother saved to pay her passage with her mother and sister on the Ormonde. By chance the Ormonde docked at Tilbury one day apart from the arrival of my father's ship at the same port! They married in 1950 and enjoyed 68 years of marriage before my father died. (If anyone remembers sailing with my father during his long career with the Clan Line, I'd be delighted to hear!)
