Re: Major incidents at sea ?
Try Lloyds of London, Lloyds List, IMO, BIMCO. Every major and minor incident is recorded, just don't believe everything you read on Wikepedia.
Depends how far back you want to go, circa 1000Bc the Chinese lost a thousand junks in a storm, circa 1000AD the Pheonicians lost 500 vessels in a storm on the way to invade Turkey.
I feel sure if you ask that question on Google you will find a wealth of directions to follow.

Noah survived the trip to Mount Ararat in spite of being overloaded.

Thought the title was appropriate for this, the latest RNLI advertisement, which must have cost a fortune and time to make, where-in a crew member shouts 'Captain on the starboard side' whilst pointing left with his left arm extended. Try as I may I cannot find a position on deck where this would work with the boat going forward - glad I'm ashore!

So many foul ups and inaccurate depictions by these marketing types, I also have problems with some pronunciations but could be my tinnitus / hearing issues e.g. Flash advert says "spray wipe down" sounds like "spray white dung" to me.
