Churchill's arctic convoys - strength triumphs over adversity
My new book published on 24 August by Pen & Sword, now available on line and from bookshops, offers a detailed overview of each phase of convoy programme and designed to provide an aid to research into those merchant and Royal Navy ships which sailed. It identifies each ship which sailed, including those which returned, and demonstrates the loss rate for merchant ships was not 6% as official figures claimed (based on number of sailings) but nearer 20% based on the actual number of those which participated and were lost.
