    Default Medway 1869

I am currently working on some family history where I find that some ancestors came to Quebec, Canada aboard a ship the MEDWAY. I have the passenger list but it only mentions the tonnage of the MEDWAY which was 1346 tons. The voyage was from London to Quebec arriving at Quebec in August of 1869. The document records the Master of the MEDWAY as D. Harris, the first name may be David. This all is handwritten so not very clear. My interest in all of this is to learn more about the MEDWAY as a ship, I assume (not a good thing to do) she was a steamship bringing immigrants to Canada from England. I have no official number so only have her name. She was obviously engaged in the immigrant trade in August of 1869. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Graham: Many thanks for the information and just what I was in hope of finding. Wife's G.G. Grandfather and family went from London to Quebec in her arriving in August of 1869. I was able to locate the passenger list on Ancestry but no data really of the MEDWAY herself. Thank you again for the assist.

Doc, Many thanks for the information which combined with what Graham has provided really covers what I was in hope of finding. My wife's G.G. Grandfather and family went from London to Quebec in her arriving in August of 1869.
