Lock down and Christmas shopping
With lock down and shielding getting the wife a present was proving difficult. I looked online for various gifts but nothing took my eye.
So I came up with this, made it myself. After all 40+years as an engineer surely this will please my Karen. pandora.jpg I was doing a wee bit of snooping around to see what might be in store for me. I did spy a nice bottle of Black Bush whiskey that I am sure will have my name on it by Christmas day.

Re: Lock down and Christmas shopping
What is it Lewis ? An engineers Halo. I thought of getting the wife some anti wrinkle cream, but then had second thoughts thinking she may think I am trying to tell her something , so bought perfume instead. Also a pair of slippers in a sale which won’t fit I know, and as she is always complaining about losing weight and her clothes are too big, a skirt size 12 which also know won’t fit , also in a sale. Anyhow is the thought that counts , and I was only trying to save money. Cheers JS

Re: Lock down and Christmas shopping
If I bought a perfume called White Linen Vernon , she would probably think I was inferring she wasn’t doing the laundry properly. I”ll bet she bought me silky underpants as have been giving out enough hints, have found they feel much better than cotton ones , No, I’m not changing my sex. I”ll be very disappointed if she wasn’t listening to me again , old age has many failures , lack of listening to others is quite near the top of the table. JS

Re: Lock down and Christmas shopping
Vernon a bit off tack. See you have seasons greetings from Paul Hughes ( sec) independent Vindicatrix East Kent. I don’t know how old he is , but believe I said once before we have as a neighbour a Terry Rumens an ex Vindi. boy of 1946 persuasion. He is now the secretary or president of one of the mercantile associations out here. He may have some personal history with Paul Hughes depending on his age. Terry is 91, and was one of the kids sent out of the UK on outbreak of war , and returned to uk after when he went to the Vindi. His first ship was the Fort Chesterfield and served in the Korean war area. He later joined the RN and served in the fleet air arm. Maybe Paul Hughes May know him or know of him? Just a chance. Cheers JS.

Re: Lock down and Christmas shopping
I asked my her indoors what she wanted for Christmas.
She told me, *'Nothing would make her happier than a diamond necklace'*
So, I bought her nothing.

Re: Lock down and Christmas shopping
She didn’t give you the stock answer then Keith and say her two front teeth. By today’s prices they would have cost you plenty especially with the gold insets she may of required . JS
