Shipping problems

#21. Can well remember taking shipload after shipload of Australian grain of all descriptions as well as sugar , and at one time there used to be a market for coal all into the Uk and these were only the bulk cargoes which also included ores of various descriptions. Not too sure about the refrigerated fruit and meat , although lamb was a favourite at times. I didn’t like the way how Australia was cut out of the market when the Uk took it upon themselves to untie the knot , and would not blame the Australian producers acting in a similar manner if the uk wants to come back to preconditions. #20..It only took 20 years to start the groundwork for a so called E.U.previous to this there were very few countries in Europe fully pro allied cause, the Nazi”s had a toehold in every country , I seem to think the closest ally’s we had were the Greeks, France was playing both sides of the field just in case , as half were composed of a Vichy government , all the flag waving covered up a lot. Good propoganda after the war fooled a lot. The uk should know by now who her geniuine friends are , if not they are in for another huge letdown. JS

UK already has new trade deals after Brexit signed with Australia, New Zealand and Canada, the latter not very open because of its hands tied (Canadian French Lobby) trade deals with EU. Of course we already have new trade deals with South American and Caribbean countries which have to be renegotiated, but probably at more advantageous terms, as they will no longer be bound by EU tariffs, and this is what frightens the EU.

to make the break work we must start making things in Britain put people back to work buying our own goods not the cheep sh.te from the eu if we need it make it here all the EU wanted of us was money ? money to prop up skint countries bordering Russia now they will have a shortfall as regards tariffs do the same to them so one will cancel the other the special relations with the us is only because we are an aircraft carrier for them in the nuclear power race we should in future suspend any nuclear weapons protecting Europe in future that is? we can make this country great again if we work together? just a thought. jp

your right about ted heath, he was a lying hypocritical duplicitous power seeker, just like all politicians. as they all knew what the common market was to become, ie a german super state. and to top it all this was only twenty five years after we went to war over principals for the sake of poland and the expanse of germany.
but the truth be known david cameron would never have given this country the referendum, except for the fact that nigel farage was going to beat the tories and the labour party in the next general election, so david cameron decided to have a referendum, thinking that the electorate would not vote for the brexit,and the rest is history.

firstly i must congratulate you on your due diligence, whilst under the influence of alcohol, and then your keen sense of duty in reporting the matter immediately to the authorities,
i must though at the same time take you to task, for if you had just gone to bed then ted heath may not have been around to either sail morning cloud or take us into the common market.

That’s the problem with incahol and being under the affluence of , sometimes wrong decisions can be made , don’t drink too much of it these days , A’s spill most of it. JS.

I too felt aggrieved at the time that the UK was forced to abandon AUS, NZ, SA and all other, mainly Commonwealth countries, never saw any price advantages in the shops, despite fruit like apples and oranges flooding into the country from closer at hand sources. Still remember Cape apples and Outspan oranges.
