Maybe old news here but only read this today.

DFDS, a Danish shipping company, is introducing a new daily service between Rosslare Europort and Dunkirk. It will take between 22 and 24 hours, Dunkirk is only 15km from the Belgian border, so it will give Irish companies direct access to the major European road networks. So looks as if they have decided to by pass the UK after we leave.

Thanks JS, yes been away a while . I got a deserved DR a while back but thankfully been allowed to sign on again. Looking forward to enjoying some good craic. I shipped out of France last August and docked back in N Ireland. That is me home and living on the coast in a lovely village called Carnlough about 30 minutes from Larne.

Can’t be good all the time , would make Jack a dull boy. Are you still into motor bikes ,or did you give them up with your youth. ? JS

I have sold the bikes back in January as I knew I was going into hospital for a knee replacement at the end of February. Sadly due to Covid I could not get to Physio. You can only do so much physio yourself . I now have a useless leg with little movement and on bad days it is really sore. The surgeon in France did his job but as said no physio and a fall in March did not help. I am on the lookout for a parrot and pieces of 8. Not far from were I live there is a Spanish galleon from the Armada years, maybe I could take up diving for Spanish gold lol. I do miss my bikes though. Even before I had the operation my family were pestering me to stop riding. I suppose after 50+ years it was time to call it a day.

Sorry to hear of your problems , the best I could do to help would be to suggest you wheedle up to Cappy for the services of his Mary in the hope her one good leg is opposite your one bad one. Know you can take a joke so will not get a DR hopefully. Think his old Emu must be past it’s lifespan by now , or it could have doubled up as a parrot. Cheers hope you didn’t lose your good humour with the loss of use of your leg, which hopefully is only temporary . I’m now in a Retirement home got fed up weeding the garden. Cheers JS.
