She now says it was her skill that she won. So my sore fingers are now watching where she puts her handbag. Alls fair in love and war. Cheers JS

    hi cappy
the alternative is, to rebuild the agressors country up to a level where it can now start to rebuild its self upto the level it held prior to the war it started, and in the germans case even stronger.
then after its back on its feet it can be given once again control of europe which it once held by force, and which it still holds today, this is what our duplicitous politicians did twenty five years or more after the second world war you couldnt make such a story up.

    HI John.
I find that my wife's handbag is always there in time of need, don't know how she does it, I think she has a money maker in there.

So many stories similar to that one.
But the name of Simpson brings to mind Simpson and his Donkey in WWI at Gallipoli.
Taking wounded from both sides to the field hospital but shot dead by a Turkish sniper.

A non combatant at the time attempting to do good taken out by the enemy.
No compassion for either side in events such as that.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

An RSL club we go to in Moama NSW has the bell from his donkey.
It was a used shell case.

Held for many years aby a family member here in Oz.
When the club opened way back in early 1990's there was a small museum in there, the bell was donated and now proudly sits in pride of place.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
