Re: Tugs...
#21 John S. In the 1960's P&O set up International Offshore Services but sold out to Tidewater Marine early 1970's. They later setup P&O Australia Ltd. managed by Australian Offshore Services Pty Ltd (Melbourne) and their vessels all started " LADY" same as UK
TNT was an Australian Logistics Company which seems to be still in business. They dabbled in offshore vessels in the 1970's. I found this web site which if it loads the Silver Pit is mentioned. Bill

Re: Tugs...
#22 I Went many moons ago on a visit to the uk , to the fishermans club in North Shields as they had at the time communication with this site. I met one of the old skippers who had been on the Silver Pit when she was fishing. He was quick to inform me with information which I already knew ,that she was a wreck when he had been there , so I told him time hadn’t changed anything. At the very most there are only 7 of us left , probably less ,but at least like to think 7 who know the true and proper story and not the media garbage. Those TNT ships always for some reason looked flimsy to me , they always looked like a good heavy sea would crumple the plating , obviously not however. Cheers JS

There was an interesting film made about the tugs going out to rescue war damaged ships, had some big stars but can't remember the title.
I am having to say Thanks on the comments as my gadget will not show Like tonight and every time I press Thanks I get told that I am not allowed to change a button stick ??

Re: Tugs...
Marian, I was a extra in that movie, the ship we were on was the RFA Wave Knight, we were three days filming our bit, it took 30 seconds to show right at the end of the movie.

Re: Tugs...
Sophia Loren was my next door neighbour when I lived in Moraira in Spain. She had a holiday home there. She was very approachable even took her shopping at the local supermarket. She was a lovely woman and when she was there she lived alone and just enjoyed her garden. No doubt I will be accused of name dropping again.
