I am trying to get hold of a photo of this ship for a friend her uncle was lost in her in 1941 with the rest of the crew he was only 24 any help would be great regards Dave

Full marks again Hugh. Just a bit of added info.
15th Sept 1941...Convoy ON14, The cargo ship straggled behind the convoy, she was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic Ocean.
54 39N ...28 04W by German Submarine U-94 with the loss of all 49 crew.

Hi Fred.
I have looked up the Newbury on the U-boat web site and they don't have it listed, and yet she is in my book British Vessels Lost At sea 39-45 as torpedoed by sub, How did you get the details? Their site is usually so accurate.

My Uncle, Kenneth Pearce was a deck boy age 16 who was lost on this ship.
