Re: Crew Member Killed in Explosion
There was a very ' out of focus ' photo in out NZ Herald this morning -- too hazy to see if it was a regular gas bottle or some other containment vessel but it did not look like a regular gas bottle and I did not recognise the colouring of the cylinder so do not know what the gas was. Regards Peter in NZ.

Re: Crew Member Killed in Explosion
There are so mnay different ones now on the cruise ships it is hard to know which is which.
Lockers all around with warnings about gas cylinders in them.
Being either deck or engine crew I would say most likely Indonesian as that is the majority of such crew on Princess ships.

Norwegian Star, cruise ship docked in Port Melbourne Wednesday on it's way to Dunedin in NZ.
Sailed and got about 70 knots off the coast when all propulsion failed.
A tug has been sent to tow her back to Port and all passengers will get a full refund and a 50% cut in the next cruise price.
No comment by shipping company as to what was the problem apart from the fact that 'we have no propulsion'.
