    Keith they gave you the reason why she was in the Mersey on last nights show,she was to call into Liverpool to pick up cotton.The guy looking through the records could not believe how all the records to do with the Merchant Navy have been preserved in Liverpool.When you look at picture two as posted by Brian it is hard to imagine that the site of the Pen& Wig is there,what a great job was done not only to rebuild this area but the whole of Liverpool and surround.

    These were our playgrounds where was 'elf n saftee' when we needed them, we cold have done with elf n saftee during the war, they could have fined the Germans for making our playground dangerous, now they have to wear helmets and goggles if they want to play conkers, gawd give me strength

    Gulliver Davey I have sat on that carved stone plinth the times I take the dog there in the summer months. good program switched over by accident and watched it. thousands of tons of clay also from the building of the terminal at seaforth is also tipped on burbo bank acres of land claimed from the sea all along there.. jp
