Cunard Passenger Killed in Boarding Accident
BY MIKE SCHULER ON APRIL 2, 2015
A passenger aboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth cruise has died following an accident while boarding the ship from a tender.
The ship was in the Sihanoukville, Cambodia when the accident occurred Wednesday.
A statement from Cunard posted to its Facebook page said the following:
We can confirm that very sadly a passenger died earlier today following an accident whilst boarding Queen Elizabeth from a tender. Two of our crew members reacted very quickly and jumped in to rescue her. She was then taken to the medical centre but despite our very best efforts she died. Our customer care team is fully involved and will be offering every support including to those passengers who witnessed the incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

The ship might be a masterpiece but the stupid woman letting herself be photograghed in a fur coat is certainly not a masterpiece and the publicity person responsible should be fired

Re: cruise ships
The QM2 is a magnificent ship.
I did the two week Maiden Voyage on her in 2004 to the West Indies and States and in 2006 did a six weeks round Cape Horn to L.A.
No ship can compare with it.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: cruise ships
Certainly NOT claustrophobic Cappy, the most spacious ship afloat ever. She was built as an Ocean Liner not a Cruise ship.
Designed for Winter North Atlantic with more safety features than any other ship in history.
Try it, you may like it. If you have not been you cannot criticise it.Cheerrs
