I was unfortunate enough to be a passenger on the Newcastle to Carlisle last train on Sunday night, after visiting my Grandson in theInfirmary. It was chaotic getting on, and the train left late, with 5 transport police on board.the noise was a bit loud, but nodrink is allowed on that train, and the late one ws abandoned some time ago due to troublemaking. I don't know if they were at the match, but apparently this happens everyweek! no wonder people use cars

Terry in a little place where we live Seaforth seven pubs have gone as we knew it.All of these pubs had their regulars and were well patronised now I'm afraid the great British pub has had it's day.I counted from Seaforth to the Pier Head top road and dock road 26 pubs gone,ok the docks and the seaman have gone but it's still a lot of pubs closed down boarded up,demolished.I notice when I go for my daily paper on recycle day lots of cans and bottles in the recycle box so the younger generation have a different outlook on life,they are not interested in having a local many of them don't even know their next door neighbours.

Of course you're right Jim, And that's the culture the country over mate not just in little old Seaforth, But there is having a drink to unwind at the end of the day, And there are those who have a drink to wind themselves up to face the day. It was never like that when we were all in work and had a reason to get up in the morning other than reach for a bottle of cider to get you through the day, It did exist I agree there have always been problem drinkers I don't deny. But they couldn't get a drink in the local convenience store at 8am in the morning. That is where I believe a lot of violence stems from these days its too freely available 24/7.
