You couldn't make it up
A French yacht was siezed by pirates and a ransom of US$2 million was paid for the release of the yacht and hostages, the pirates were later caught and transported to France to stand trial.....sounds good so far! The European Court of Justice and Human Rights has now ordered the French Government to pay each pirate between 2 and 9000 Euros each in compensation for not presenting them before a magistrate within 48 hours of landing in France, because........... this will make laugh.............. it breached their human rights. What planet are these so called judges living on and when did Somalia sign the Human Rights Convention. It makes you want to put all these numpties on a yacht and say to the Somalis' please hijack these idiots, we'll pay your ransom but don't send them back.
I know this news will make Brian very happy.

Re: You couldn't make it up
ivan that's why a total re.think is needed to all the stupid pc brigade lawyers that are making millions out of telling if a banana is bent or not and things like that. when crime pays its back to the drawing board. is there no common sense left in the world? I think its time to go from human rights civil liberties and all the other groups that jump on the bandwagon. today jihadists were jailed for 17 years no doubt there will be lawyers for years to come earning good money to oversee their welfare and they get everything they ask for? worlds gone mad..jp

Re: You couldn't make it up
That is unbelievable, but believable knowing the idiots that make stupid laws in Europe. I despair at the mess our pollies have got us into,
JP, Yesterday or day before the murdering bastards who butchered Lee Rigby in Greenwich have tried to get off the murder charge. They said it wasn't murder.
And a Human Rights Lawyer was paid for by us the Tax payers to defend them. What kind of man is that lawyer who would want to defend evil animals like them.?
The Police were very slow when arresting them , they should have shot them, and then bury their remains in Pig Manure to stop them from going to Paradise.

Shooting them is to easy on them Brian, should have buried them up to the neck in s---- then threw stones at them.
Then let them swing in the breeze to clear the stink then, then hang the B------s.

Re: You couldn't make it up
One of the problems is the manner in which the laws are made then interpreted. Governments make them, courts interpret them. Sadly no there are so many of the PC brigade who are dead set Richard Craniums that it makes you wonder hwo any justice is delivered.

Happy daze John in Oz.
