#47.....John, I think the tariff on all the electricity generated in Scotland, and used in England, might go a fair way to covering that. But I hope it's not necessary.

Another error on Mr. Salmond's part. All electricity generated is fed into the national grid which as far as I recollect is controlled from somewhere in England. So unless Mr. Salmond climbs ladders and physically cut links we could
1. Steal all of Scotlands electricity
2. Mr Salmond will have to build a separate grid for Scotland alone.
The plot gets deeper the more and more you think about it and apart from the big issue regarding currency no one appears to be putting all the rpros and cons on the line for your Mr. man in the street.

Re: Think of this Mr. Salmond and all those Yes voters
I saw a bit of a speech by milliband to Scottish voters saying they should vote no so that at the next election together with him they could combine to put a government in led by him.
After that Scotland is guaranteed to vote yes

Scotland would not be in NATO, it takes a while to join, If the slams attack Scotland, blow up its shopping malls and stores, car bombs down Princess Street in Edinburgh, and attack its oil and gas rigs, who would they call on to help them.??? ......Us????

#58....Hugh, they'd probably call on the Scotsmen who currently comprise a more-than-proportionate part of the British armed forces. PS It's Princes Street.
