Re: White Star Bldg Opens.
Well I decided today and go and check it out,I thought that it was a bit premature in completing the building work.Firstly as I approached on the sidewalk they were still taking the scaffholding down from doing the sandblasting, this guy picked one of the scaffholding boards up to pass to his mate resulting in me being covered in the sand blast.Once inside the place was in a right mess there were people still laying the floor in the reception, the smell of adhesive was very strong.I asked this guy where the mosaic of South America was,it was hidden under the builders rubbish.I said to him I thought you were opening today,we are he answered, this was 2.15pm and the first guest's were due at 4.00pm.What the first impression will be on their arrival I dont know.Anyway no trip down there is complete without a trip to the Pen & Wig so that's where I headed for a few pints of John Smiths. The music from downstairs was blaring so I imagine they had a good crowd down there.
As a matter of interest I was talking to Lou this morning lets see if his lucky run continues his fancy for the Grand National is TIDAL BAY so if you fancy a flutter pay your money and take your chance.Good Luck.
Regards.

Re: White Star Bldg Opens.
I'm glad they have left the mosaic floor of South America in situ, which was placed there by PSNC, those portals I entered with trepidition at the tender age of 15 looking for my first deep sea job, unbeknownst to my sea training school for which I got a right rollicking because no one else had joined from that school and PSNC wasn't on the 'Official List'. My mother said, you went on trawlers to Iceland when you were 13 don't let any grumpy teachers stand in your way, here's the train fare to Liverpool, we lived in Hull at the time, so got on a train and off I went, took sometime to persuade them to see me, got in eventually and they promised me an apprenticeship when I reached 16 years, a promise they kept, at times later I wished they hadn't!!
