Re: Passenger questions
Had one passenger on the Empress of Canada when he was told that no ship had headlights (as on a car) slept with his lifejacket on under his lifeboat for the whole crossing to Montreal.
Another passenger who after asking the names of the birds (seagulls) that were following us and being told that they were always the same birds that followed us and were called, Shirley, susan, Alfred etc. was heard telling all the other passengers the same.
A friend of mine on one of the smaller more exclusive passenger ships only managed to quell a near riot amongst the American passengers the reason for the ship being at anchor off Southend was that they had divers down changing to socket for the electric supply fitted on the ships keel to the U.K. 3 pin style rather than the European two pin style socket. The Americans were certain that the ship was anchored was because it was under threat of a terrorist attack not believing the real reason for it anchoring whilst waiting for the tide to allow it to reach the Pool of London.
Passengers, hardest cargo you could carry with their inane questions but also some of the best cargo ever especially those pretty things that fell for anything in a uniform.

Re: Passenger questions
Asked by a passenger if it was possible to do some water skiing,
I advised him to ask the old man about it.

Re: Passenger questions
On a mcAndrews boat, the galley boy honked up from the time we dropped the mooring rope to the time we tied up again. However when it came to pay off and signing on again he was the first in the queue, and that was the same for the 3 trips I did on her, brave little sod, would not be beat , kt

Re: Passenger questions
Questions on cruise ships have been asked,
What do you do with the ice carvings when they melt?
Is the water in the toilet salt or fresh?
Does the captain have his own cabin?
Why do the waves get bigger when the wind blows?
Where do you store the frozen food?
The list is endless and just goes to prove you cannot legislate for idiots.

Then of course there is the question, were they born or just developed?
