looking at the photographs of ships crews on the site the other day, it struck me, was I once that young??

talking to a friend the other day, he stated, if we make it to " three score and ten" then everything else is a bonus. guess we are reaping the benefits of that statement now....... enjoy it.

I went to two Funerals within 45 hours this week.
A ship mate and my ex Wife, both a few years younger than me.
So I am very grateful when I wake up every day.

    Default Grateful

I was hit by three and a half tonnes of steel grab when I was 48 years old, (a chain broke on the sling) first job for my own company, tossed 17 feet into the air and landed onto concrete it was 22 months before I was finally out of plaster, but was back at work a week after the accident (somebody had to pay the bills) couldn't get sick pay because I had my own company and I was born here. Same week an immigrant family not too far away was given a sea view flat, furniture, television and £200 per week and had paid nothing into the system. Believe me nearly 30 years after the accident every day HAS been a bonus for which I am eternally grateful. They say the devil looks after his own! because a saint I never was! But like most I look at the photos of bygone eras' and think was that really me by god he looks fit for purpose, now I close my eyes when approaching mirrors!

    Thumbs up

We are all in fact 16 year olds, but we then have a number of years experience added to that figure, that is then your age.
