BBC iPLAYER, SEA CITY.
There is a series, `SEA CITY `on BBC iPlayer 30 minutes each,
Very interesting, showing the ships in and out of Southampton, with the Pilots, Port Control and other staff keeping grotty Yachties away from the paths of P&O Cruise ships, big container ships, tankers off Fawley etc. Very interesting. worth a watch.
Cheers
Brian.

There we go again Brian *grotty Yotties*, as though they are the only pain in the **** of the shipping, watch carefully and you will see pratt fishemen being chased off for fishing very close to the main chanell. The harbour master seen on the launch is the son of a guy i used to work with, and he will tell you some stories, but of course they showed the obvious Richard Head running in front of the tanker a couple of seasons ago, regards KT

Sorry about that Keith, but I had many a run in with the Yachties,
I remember coming up the Mother Bank, round Egypt Point to the Thorn Channel on the ESSO NORTHUMBRIA, 256,000 dwt. to Fawley on the first day of Cowes week in 1976, we had Clear Channel, we cannot slow down, alter course, or dodge anything due to our Draft.
The Harbour Launch ahead of us, with strobe lights and loud halers, , VTS broadcasting to every one to keep clear of us, but NO.
There were several thousand yachts in Southampton Water, , they see a Big ship and they head for it to get a better view. `Oh there is a big Tanker, lets bounce off the side of it` seemed to be the attitude.
We sank a few yachts that day, a lot of people in the water. Yachts wrecked. I was on watch and swinging on the whistle lanyard, but made no difference. They were like Kamikazes.
There were more yachts than fishermen then.
Cheers
Brian.

Ex Pat Shield ??
Thanks for that Tony
I had allready had that site Bookmarked, and had in the past tried to download it,however it came up as no install, and i had a wee bit of a problem afterwards,as it was quite difficult to actually get rid of the install Shield,i had to reboot the Puter.
If anyone else tries it,and it works i would be most pleased if you could let me know how it goes with you!
Thanks
Cheers
