For whom the bell tolls
Every day at work I pass a ships bell that has been donated to our college.
It is a requirement that all ships be fitted with a bell and there are regs. that give a minimum bell mouth size etc.
Yet this one is around three times the ones I was used to when I was sailing and would have needed the jumbo to rig it.
Polishing the damm thing must have taken whole tin and a half of Brasso and most of the morning watch.
It came from the Port Dunedin.
Anyone out there ever had the privilidge of polishing it.

on a lighter note, especially for our southern friends
try tying "the front fell off" into UTUBE and clicking on The Friday Joke..The Front Fell off.
If you don't laugh at it then its time for another wee drinkie to lighten you up.
