Best of luck to them I hope they succeed. I have in my possession an original glass slide of the Lusitania on trials on the River Clyde.

Re: Mauretania Model For Auction.
Maybe Paul McCartney, who made his money from Liverpool kids could buy it for the Museum
He only has £750,000,000 so what is he saving up for when he is in his 70s.?
£50,000 is nothing to him, like a fiver to me, time he put something back into Liverpool.
Cheers
Brian

You can only produce something of that standard if you love what you are doing, a credit to its un-named builders

When the demolition men started demolish the Clyde Shipyards, anything and everything went into the skips. All the yard models that decorated the office entrances were skipped along with all the ships drawings.ic

Hi Jim
here is Paul McCartney in Liverpool from £117.85p a ticket up to £237.50p. some a lot more. If the people of Liverpool pay that I will be very disappointed. I would think they had more sense than that. Let us hope they would spend their money wisely for some of its Heritage instead of throwing their money on this bum. He has done nothing for Liverpool apart from taking its money.
One nights takings could take care of a lot of Liverpool's heritage problems.

Re: Mauretania Model For Auction.
I know it was an idea of Paul McCartney with Featherstone Witty to save his old school from dereliction. and he got it off the ground.
But today the finances are paid for by Student Fees, and Government grants, ie, the Tax Payer.
It was reported a while ago that he had pulled out.
LIPA
SUMMARY OF OUR FINANCES for 2013/14
INCOME.................... in..... £'000s
Student fees £6,617
65.0% Government grants
£1,840
18.1% Projects incl 4:19 £617
6.0%
Deferred grants £579
5.7%
Other including catering and interest £530 5.2%
total Income . £10,183,000
