    Default Tall Ships.

Tall Ships arrive in Liverpool this week should be a good weekend for anyone within travel distance of Liverpool. If not you dont have to miss some good pics, just log onto Liverpool Echo (sorry I dont know how to put this up)maybe Tony or someone can do it. Maybe more pics to follow when more ships arrive.
    Regards.

Incidently Stuart Wood was a Mersey River Pilot some off you may recognise him for being on your bridge bringing you down the Mersey.

Default If you get the chance

If you have nothing else planned for this weekend that cannot be put off, then get youself down to see the tall ships in Liverpool. Even better if you can see them sail in.
I've visited them twice whilst they have been in Newcastle and its a great day out even if you are not a seafarer.
To actually see them at sea is even better and one of the finest sights I ever saw was when were anchored in the Gulf of Teuantpic (Mexico West Coast, cannot spell it properly) awaitng berthing in Salina Cruz and just as the sun came up the Mexican Naval Sail Training Tall Ship came flying into the Bay under full sail with all its crew at attention. Passed us about 100mtres off at full tilt and then just when you thought it was going too fast and was going to crash into the beach, zooooom, up into the wind she came, down came the sails and she just gently drifted up to her anchorage spot. Absolutley fantastic to watch, so in mid 80's Mexico was still training proper seamen.
I have a journal written by a 16 year old girl who went from Cardiff to San Fransisco and back on her father sailing ship in 1888 and its fascinating reading.
