Always went to Little Aden, but managed a few visits into Steamer Point, in the early days, and always quite liked the place. Good shopping, and a few drinks on the verranda of the Marina hotel while watching the world go by. Bit different now I reckon, but nothing is forever, Not even us. Cheers , Albi.

I have been to both sides, in town and in Little Aden, There was a club in Little Aden in 1962 and you got beer coupons, beer was limited. Near by was a British Military Cemetery, when the Russians took over the base after the British left , the British Cemetery was bulldozed and the land cleared to make space for warehouses.
Not a peep out of the British government. it was all kept quiet. When I was sailing around there in the Gulf of Aden in the 70s, That Aden coast from Aden to Socotra was declared as a Hostile coast. Radio jamming was prevelent by the Ruskies. So Sparky had a difficult time in that area.
Cheers
Brian.
