We are sailing
Well lads, and lasses, it is that time of year again. Time to take to the sea again, even if it is only for two weeks.
Fly to Singapore Monday then cruise to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia, end up in Freemantle.
Last time I was in Singapore, apart from the airport, was in 64. There was a very attractive young lady I met who told me to look her up again if I was ever back that way. I wonder if she would remember me??

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Hi John, Do what we always do, fly to Singapore several days early before your cruise. and enjoy the best city in the world.
It never fails to amaze me, it changes so much every time I go there, there is so much to see and do there.
I usually go there on average , every two years, last time was ten weeks ago.
I have a photo of your young lady somewhere, . cant find it, .....
What ship are you going on ? let us know what it is like.
Cheers
Brian.

Singers/Vietnam
John
Sounds like a great cruise, only visited Vietnam years ago but have a friend who is at present in Vietnam and he is raving about it. Top Gear did one of their specials in Vietnam a year or so ago and the place and people looked fantastic.
Pity you are not having longer in Singapore which, like many others here, is my favourite city (apart from my home town). Visiting Singapore without having a singapore slling in Raffles could be judged as a crime against humanity so try to take your good wife for at least one.
How long do you get in Vietnam and Cambodia?. Always fancied visiting Cambodia but never got the chance.
Happy cruising (not that type).

Have a great trip John. From a British Garrison to a modern metropolis. Lee Kwan Yew was a great builder.
Here (I hope it attaches) is a picture as it was nearly 50 years ago. Richard Q -Yes, it works, take no heed of the directions on the picture.

In Singers enjoy a Gin Sling in the Long Bar upstairs in Raffles, costs 27 S. $. Tour round the Marina Bay, fantastic, and also see Karanji War Cemetery go there on the MPS
In Saigon, Ho Chi Min, in the Square where uncle Ho`s statue is , is the Royal Hotel, upstairs on the roof, is a superb restaraunt, we had two dinners and a bottle of wine for 14$. excellent. It is the same roof where all those reporters and camera men stood overlooking the American Embassy when they were all panicking and trying to leap into helicopters at the fall of Saigon 1975.
I have looked at the photo of your once young lady, I would not post it, she is not a pretty sight. a wizzened old hag with no teeth. Bugis Street has gone and all cleaned up.
Enjoy your trip John and Terri.sounds great.
