Dock gates southampton
THEY ARE PLANNING TO PULL DOWN THE THE DOCK GATES IN SOUTHAMPTON HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE PASSED THROUGH THEM IN YOUR TIME, CAN THEY DO THIS ? WHY THEY SAY ITS PROGRESS. Plans to demolish dock gates (From Daily Echo) ALLTHE BEST BILL BE GOOD.

The pearly gates!!
Hi Bill
First of all what a lovely old Pic they have there,it sure will bring back some old memories to many here! Myself included!
Yes the days of going through the Gates and slipping a bit of cash to the keepers (Bobby;s)haha! ,which made it so easy to get quite a lot of things through without having to pay any duty Taxes!
It will be a great pity to pull those down as i feel as would many others that they are Heritage Gates now,and should be kept in place for all time!
Progress!! Whats that! LOL!
What would it really acchieve,but still to have Cars stopped at the entrance of the Harbour,so to me the Gates taken away would not help in any way!
No my vote on this is to definately keep those lovely Gates there,they are now Icons!!
