David , your post #4 is something akin as to what would appear on another site - had not expected such
a tirade here !.
Very sad.

Hi Davey,
As many on this site will tell you (and not without some justification I might add), your description in post #10 fits me to a tee, old mate. There was I thinking that you and I were almost soul-mates and you come out with that. Don't you know how that makes me feel ? Was it something I said or what? Don't hold back, mate, tell me....

I doubt that very much John-simply becauseI have never ever posted on another site.
Yes,like most of us I look in to all these sites, but I'm afraid this is the only site(the best) that I regularlybother with
To reiterate :-I HAVE NEVER EVER POSTED ON ANOTHER SITE.
I do have acquaintances on the 'other'site in question and know much about 'identity' exchanges('sock puppets' ) between Bill Davies(16 identities at the last count),not including the Michael Hughes on this site-remember him? .It is very strange that you always jump to Bill Davies's defence and vice versa whenever one of you is criticized.Sometimes with the gist of your conversations between you,it is as if the same person is talking.I wonder......
Perhaps you should be careful too,John-your 'cover' may be blown !
Sad I may be although (I don't think so),but along with others on this site, naive or stupid I am most definitely not...
Regards
Gulliver

Gentlemen
Whilst seeing and appreciating both sides of the coin, so to speak, this thread is in danger of becoming a bit of a free for all. I would respectfully remind you all of the forum rules concerning personal attacks. Whilst many will no doubt interpret post #1 as antagonistic hopefully it wasn't intended as such. Perhaps now is the time to draw a line in the sand and keep further postings somewhat less provocative hence removing the need to have the whole thread deleted.

I remember some of the last set of exchanges , involviing multiple personalities and personal " I am clever than thou " attacks . I remember the people involved and feel that it became a huge downhill snowball , with others getting dragged in as they commented
I hope this is not the herald of another of those bouts of unpleasantness unleashed to prowl across the site . It does not " make my day " it does in fact ruin my pleasure in reading the worldwide thoughts and opinioins of seafarers , who I in general regard as a pretty open minded bunch of graduates of the University of Life , with a universal knowledge of innumerable things .
We all have our skills , I can no more tie a knot than I could carry a tray for a table of Eight on the Cape run ( I would need , as one overloaded winger once said a F*****g Wheelbarrow the amount he had to carry ). I do though have respect for others skills and knowledge , but get equally bored by the pedant who exercise their knowledge to the 15th decimal place .
We also all have our opinions , honed by in some cases lifelong experiences . I just hope we can learn at our great ages to respect those opinions of others , we seem in danger of veering sharply off that course , and taking a route that was not submitted in advnce to the office , That as a certain Italian now Knows ( Alledgedly ) can lead to a disaster

listening to different news channels about this disaster one is telling one story and another totally different we can only comment on what we are being informed is a lot of thees stories just being put out for the sake of something to say on the news? example one news channel yesterday... it will cost£86.000.000 to repair and will take three years before she is back i service? another news. she will be scrapped? now who what and how do we believe any of them other than the liner has hit rocks and there are fatalities? so anything else is pure conjecture.just my view.john
