    Thumbs up Boy Ratings

South Shields and Fleetwood Marine College, are now training boy ratings deck and engine, only a few at the moment but at least it's a start, Catering ratings at a later date.

Shipping companies showing a interest are Bibby's for Forland shipping.

Fishers of Barrow for their Nuclear vesssels and North Star Offshore.

After March 2012, Fisher's of Barrow will no longer be managing the Nuclear ships, after running them, and previously several of their own vessels, for around 30 years. The contract has been awarded to SERCO, who run various Government departments, and also run the former Naval Auxiliary tugs etc as Serco-Denholm. So they may not need the new deck and engine trainees, they may use them from somewhere else, like Eastern Europe for example!
