Anyone seen the program on, I think Discovery about that huge Russian Ice Breaking tanker. Absolutley fascinating as it gave a potted history of ice breaker design as well.
If you saw it you will realise just how difficult Ice Navigation is. Done a bit myself but only up to Montyplonk in winter and certainly never thought that going astern for miles would be the way to break up thick, old ice.
Think the title of the program is "The Worlds largest Icebreaker" search the channels to find it, its a great watch.
