Cllr Lutfor Rahman is backed by Islamic Forum Europe (IFE), an Islamist group run out of the London ****** Centre/East London Mosque. The IFE has strong links to Jamaat-e-Islami – a clerical-fascist party which operates with only marginal support in Bangladesh but which is disproportionately over-represented in Tower Hamlets Council.

Do you think any form of protest to these `foreigners` I can think of many words to describe them, will have any chance of changing their minds ???
They are an ANTI BRITISH, Militant Islamic Council controlled and financed by Saudi Arabia, also affiliated to the LABOUR PARTY,
35,000 dead Merchant Seafarers to them , mean there was 35,000 British less to breed.
We now have our enemy in our midst. We would have done better by losing WW2 ,then these individuals would not be here now.

Why, Oh why, did they not heed Enoch Powell, instead of sending him to oblivion. I wish he was Prime Minister now!

    Brian & Everyone,

Whilst agreeing with your strength of feeling, we must try and keep calm about this issue yet ensure that a constant pressure is kept up on the Firm and the Council. If we start to bring other aspects into it, it will cloud the issue and it will branch off into other subjects and arguments, then our principal argument and moral ground will be badly weakened.

I note that the press have been monitoring this site, as I have been quoted, see HERE without my knowledge or permission, so we must remain united and steadfast in what we say, without offering the opposition anything to attack us on, no matter how hard it may be.

    Chris.

    Chris.
Well Chris at least you got a mention, I've just received an email from the Letters Editor of the Guardian, to whom I wrote a letter, he states that the subject matter of the letter has nothing to do with him or the Guardian as the article appeared in the "Observer" it seems the unnamed gentleman hasn't got the sense to read the letter properly or is one of those who will be attending the "Dancing on the graves of the war dead" and I hope he is monitoring this site and reading this, and has the courage to give his name and not hide behind "Letters Editor" and explain whyh he deems it improper to bring to his readers attention the disrespectful and disgusting actions which are about to take place on the memorial to the war dead whose sacrifices enabled him to have free speech.

But I do find that people who hide behind titles have no moral values or sense of decency

Let every seaman past and present rise up with one voice and say no and remember that there if we let this one away where will it end with planning permission to build houses as usual with our elected Politicians anything for a fast buck.

Surley we should be contacting "Lord" John Prescot about this matter as he can raise the subject in the House of Lords. He might be also able to convince some of his old chums in the "New Labour Party " to ask questions in Parliament at the Prime Ministers question time. After all bashing the Merchant W*****S should win him a few kudos

    Default Tower Hill

I just couldn't believe what I was reading. I have today sent the following message to licensing@towerhamlets.gov.uk and have contacted very many of the members of the Bearwood Old Royals Association - to say they are incensed is putting it mildly. I understand that objections have to be submitted by 12th October, so there is no time to lose. Name and address need to be given to make sure the objection is logged.

"]As the Alumni Secretary for the Old Royals Association (ex pupils association for the Royal Merchant Navy School, Bearwood) I wish to register the Association's strong objection (and my own) to any 'party' events planned for the Merchant Navy Memorial Site.

Our Association represents many sons and daughters of men who perished in two World Wars whilst serving in the Merchant Navy and we all consider this to be a most inappropriate use of the site. For many who had no known grave, this is a very important place and it is visited frequently from people all over the world. How sad and shocking that people should make a pilgrimage from, say, Australia or Canada, to see their father's name and his ship engraved on the Memorial only to be confronted with a marquee licensed for the sale of alchohol. This site should be safe from 'sacrilege' just as any graveyard would be.
