John did you notice the part about ships having a shorter life span and actually building ships in Oz now that is a benefit that we really need. The crowning piece as I read it is seaman that do over 90 in foriegn waters will be except from Oz tax which will assist them as well as the owners. Better than what we got is it not.

Now that Gaddaffi has been killed, which was always going to happen, assisted of course by our brave politicians in giving the right intelligence to the so called Rebels. A lot of people in government circles must be breathing sighs of relieve that he will no longer be able to talk about any deals made with certain individuals in the West. As it is obvious that Death is not such a big thing with them when it is necessary, why do they not allow a general referendum on bringing back Capital Punishment back into our society. and let the people decide if they want other murderers etc. treated in the same manner. I fully agree with you both. Don't hold your breath waiting for all those so called atrosities he was supposed to have done over 40? years to be aired. I do know it's a fact that he built hospitals that put Britain to shame as well as first class highways, and was in the process of putting in one of the worlds biggest reticulation schemes with massive pipes to carry water to every part of the country. Something this country could do with, instead of wasting billions on a war in Afghanistan; looking for terrorists when we all know they come from and are backed financially by Suadi Arabia.

A couple of years ago when Bliar was in talks with Gaddafi, Gaddafi said "We have no need to fight the West, we will just take over by weight of numbers".
This is really happening now.

Albert, as far as I"m concerned both Blair and Brown should have been put in the Tower of London, two of the most destructive forces to ever hit the UK. They have nothing to be proud of. Cheers John Sabourn.

Gadaffi, like so many before him came to power with great intentions. He brought water to the desert, brought about a great medical scheme for the people, improved education to the masses. But like so many other dictators got greedy and arrogant, and like so many more paid the price.
Should he have been kept alive and brought to trial? It would have taken years of court time with no guarantee of a suitable outcome.
But I agree capital punishment shpuld be brought back for certain crimes. Why spend millions on keeping some low lie alive when he or she will never contribute to society again?
