Captain John Sail & Tim Brant from the National MNA were at the back off that section next to the lady marching.

Default Our position in the march past

When I was at Gravesend Sea School in 1949 the school was asked to provide a marching squad for both the Albert Hall and the Cenotaph parade. I was quite proudly chosen to participate. I was also pleased that it meant most of the weekend at home. Anyway we did the rehearsal for the Albert Hall but we were dropped in favour of veterans. In the march past at The Cenotaph we were behind the WRNS, the smell was gorgeous.

This tradition was still in place when I was at Gravesend in 1980. Volunteers were asked to take part in two parades, one through Gravesend, the other in London at the Cenotaph. I drew the short straw in comparison and marched through Gravesend.
