London Overseas Freighters Ltd.
Dont know what has happened here but I think I was either the first or second to place a message with this company when the list of shipping companies was started on this site but for some reason it has dissapeared however here are my details again.
I sailed as an Engineer with LOF sadly for only two years a company which I thought was a very good one, the three ships I sailed on were the "MV London Prestige" "MV Overseas Courier" and finally the "MV Overseas Adventurer" in my opinion all nice ships although the Prestige engine room kept us more than busy but having said that it was all good fun & as I always say my sea going days were some of the best working days of my life and would do it all over again if I was young enough and of course if we had a Merchant Navy.
Best wishes to all members,
John Aspin (R685343) Ormesby-Middlesbrough.

Hello London Overseas Freighters,
I first went to sea as Engineer 1960, my first 2/E sailed with wes ex-L O F., he was always talking about them and Doxfords, at this time I was all ears.
His name was Dug Robertson a gordie, last contact he was ashore working near Bradford, perhaps you knew him.
Good memories from those days
Cliff Page.

Hi there. Whwn I failed second Mates I joined LOF as 4th Mate and did 2 six month trips on London Independance [Russia to Cuba] and Overseas Ambassador. Then after I passed went third Mate on London Pride. Visited Adventurer in Falmouth. Sailed with the dreade Donald Muir.
Was due to join Prestige in USA but left to join Trident. A great company.Enjoyed my time with them and still keep i touch with Oliver Signorini whom I sailed with in both LOF and Trident.
Still have a House flag.
