Roland & Raphael
My late brother John Scully sailed on the Roland & my brother Robert Scully sailed on the Raphael. This would have been in the late 60's.
Kind regards,

Hi Tracey
I was a L&H man in 1957 (Lassell, Roscoe and Devis) and I noticed that your brother was on the Raphael. I don't know if you have a photo of it but there is a book for sale at Amazon called 'A River in Retrospect' *which consists of many fantastic colour photos of many of the ships which used the mersey in the 50's/60's. It is a brilliant book and a must for any MN guys and gals. I can scan a picture to you of the Raphael if you can't locate l copy at your library. It is by Paul Book, and there is a similar book titled 'Reflections on a River' by Paul Book and Nigel Bowker.
cheers

Hiya Tony,
Good to see you on the site & that you're finding your way around it now. Thank you for the information regarding the book. I have a black & white photo of the Raphael which my brother Robert sailed on & I would appreciate a colour photo of it, it's very kind of you to offer. The photo I have of the Roland is a black & white also.
Many thanks & best wishes,

Hi Boseley,
I don't know the Scully you sailed with, both my brothers sailed from the late 60's. Robert didn't take to life at sea but John was a seafarer until 1983.
2 of my Scully cousins, Terry & Billy also went to sea in the 60's.
Best wishes,
Tracey.
