Re: Ageing Gracefully
t wonders we had in the days of little back then.
Used some very odd items to relieve pain or other symptoms.
Senna pods soaked overnight to bring bowel relief, olive oil in the ear to relieve ear ache.
Soap off cuts in a metal case to shake in the washing up bowl to make soap suds, mending holes in socks with wool, maybe that is why I do not wear them now.
There must be hundreds of similar stories out there, this is just one of them

Re: Ageing Gracefully
Been having had a lot of pain lately, went to the Docs.
You have Gout!!! never had Gout in my life, but bloody painful. Got up one morning earlier in the week to my toe looking like this.
He reviewed the Meds I am on for various health problems, likely some have led to my kidneys not dealing well and removing Uric acid.
Looks as if I will be doing nothing but drinking more water than I do. I take diuretic meds to stop the build up of fliuds. It is certainly is a balancing act to get the meds sorted out.
I already have to plan my days out so I know were I can find a loo!!!
Local councils here on Wirral have closed most of the public WC's to save money. Looks as if I will have to get a horse and cart or, find a police man with a cloak so I can have a wee in the street
sore as F--k.jpg
Apparently if I have a horse and cart I cannot leave it unattended, so this is my new mode of transport. Think I will stop outside the councils offices and have a protest pee, might make tem open the public Toilets again.
Me having a discreet wee at the back of me new horse & cart.
