I worked in Glasgow after my sea days with a Donald Macdonald Maclean ex Merch, AB from Barra. We worked for a rigging company called Stephens and Carter. He'd be about 63-64 today. Don't know if this is the same guy.

sorry to hear dan maclean barra passed away i sailed with himself and his brother alex ( algrego ) as all in denholms knew him we did a trip to australia and back to the uk which was unusual for a tramp ship not to pick up cargo on that long voyage that was in 1972/73 newyear in melbourne and straight home that was the good old days

that ship was the sig ragne named after the norwegian owners daughter i wonder where did she end up as she left denholm mang shortly after no wonder must have broke down 50 times that trip the only words the chief knew was all hands below today being g.p, there was nothing we could do but moarn but he gave us a bottle of 4bells and a case of beer often without asking for it so he could do worst
