    Wink Barry Island

Noticed a lot of threads mentioning Barry. Wonder if any one had sailed with my father Joe (Taffy( Clode. He was born in Barry And sneaked away to sea when he was 14. He sailed as deckie got as far as 3rd mate then puched a 2nd Mate in Australia. He was sacked and sailed home on a blue star ship. They wouldnt even let him sail as bosun after that- broke his heart! I sailrd myself for Houlder Bros. Wonder if Leadenhall St is still full of Shipping companies?

    Default Denby Grange

Denby Grange was my first trip to sea in 63, good ship, crew and officers and food was good, a very good introduction to sea life. She was the first of many tankers i was to sail in.

    Question Denby Grange

    Hi all,

I'm new to the site and am looking for information about my father Tony Noon. he served in the Merchant Navy between 1967 - 1969 on the Cerinthus, Bidford Priory and Denby Grange.
I have his Seamans Record Book and know when he sailed and where from, but not where to - why isn't that recorded?
I have the following dates that he sailed and if anyone knows anything, I would be forever in their debt!!

    Cerinthus:
    02.08.67 - Ellesmere Port - Discharge: Ellesmere Port 21.10.67 - FGN
    21.10.67 - Ellesmere Port - Discharge: Ellesmere Port 26.10.67 - HT RUN
    22.11.67 - Greenock - Discharge: Greenock 03.12.67 - FGN
    04.01.68 - Barry - Discharge: Ellesmere Port 07.01.68 - FGN
    08.01.68 - Ellesmere Port - Discharge: South Shields 29.01.68 - FGN
    30.01.68 - South Shields - Discharge: Ellesmere Port 08.04.68 - FGN
    09.04.68 - Ellesmere Port - Discharge: Kingston Jamaica 02.07.68 - FGN

    Denby Grange:
    05.10.68 - Immingham - Discharge: Kristiansand 18.10.68

    Bidford Priory:
    21.11.68 - Hamburg - Discharge: London 01.05.69

    Hope you can help!!!

    Hi Tony,

Apologies, my name is Emma Skeith (nee Noon) - is there a way of changing my profile name?
Thank you for your information, would the ships log books be recorded with the shipping company?

    Thanks

    Emma

Hope to chat more with you on this, usually do not venture this far, but chanced upon this topic. Interested for many reasons, have heard of many of the chaps mentioned on page 3: LINK: http://www.merchant-navy.net/forum/h...-grange-3.html and need to know a bit more.

Initially re: Site Member Lima, noticed also from Barry but not posted since 3rd February 2012.

Also re: Chain Locker, was June a coloured lady ?

And re: Wally: My fathers uncle: LINK: http://www.merchant-navy.net/forum/a...-trewicks.html

    Regard's Keith.
