I was on the Ocean Transport between the years of 1974 to 1978 south america run. Also sailed on the Joya Macance,Orenda Bridge,Oratava,Sagamore,Clerk Maxwell , Cotinga, later years i ended up in the north sea on the Uncle John and then just about all the Houlder drilling units, if theres any old shipmates out there who would like to reminisce i would like to hear from them.

Thanks for the welcome John also Vernon,i will have plenty of time on my hands very shortly to enter all my trip dates as i am retiring at the end of March, just one more tour of duty to do onboard the Stena Tay oil rig down in Nigeria, then my life at sea is coming to an end,i feel its time to call it a day considering it was 1971 when i went to Gravesend sea school, so its time to down anchor and settle in to the humdrum life of a land luber.

Maltese Cross
Hi Leigh, Same as you, Ocean Transport was my 1st ship. Just got a photo of her, felt strange! She was a workhorse! Joined her in Liverpool, had been to sea college but was brand new! The other Junior Engineer was Clive Weatherburn son of a admiral I think. Supposed shes well scrapped now- but the memories arent!
