When i was working on the Buses a long time back, there were so many at that time that used sort of Hitch a short ride, by Jumping the Bus as it slowed a bit , the hopping off a few stops later as it carried on moving!
The Cape Town Non White Folk had a great nack of doing this at some speed too, when jumping off they used to do it jumpig off forwards, it was quite an Art!
Lost so many fares that way though as they were too fast to get to . LOL

Vernon, I think London Transport, and no doubt Cape Town lost a fortune by people like me doing that.
But it became a bit of a challenge to do that, see how far you could go before the clippy caught up with you.
