Re: Covid Vacs
Here in Victoria our Premier who has been on sick leave for three months will return on June 28, all I can say is stay away your deputy does afar better job than you could ever do.
An example of his stupidity.
All elective surgery cancelled, he claims that having an operation in one will increase you chance of catching the Virus by 1000%??????????
The majority of working Oz have private medical cover, if not they pay an extra 2% on their Medicare.
It happens that about 95% of all elective surgery is done in private hospitals, none of which have the capacity to care for those in need of the intensive kind of care required with the Virus.
Having elective surgery means you will have to have x rays and MRI scans done in public ones and the cost sent to your fund.
Private hospitals rarely have such equipment here in Victoria.
There is normally just a few regular nurses there with the surgeon brining his own team in with him to do the job.
Having been in a few when my wife has had surgery I know they are not suited to Virus care.
But not on the advice of the chief medical officer of the state, but by the regulation of the premier elective surgery was stopped.
Must go, got to do some shopping, apparently there are only four more lock downs till Christmas.

Re: Covid Vacs
Here in Victoria we have to QR every time we enter a shop, shopping center and just about everywhere else.
If you do not own a smart phone then you must sign a book.
Gov say tis way if there is an outbreak you will know where you where at the time.
But many are now saying this is more than just that, more of a system where the gov can track your movements.
More police state rulings.

John.
Never mind which way you look at it Australia is one of the worst covid vac countries in the world around 47th.
The Astra Zenica was only touted for people over 50, now with the increase in blood clotting they have shifted that to over 60s, which to my mind means they don't give a Sh#* about people over sixty, which if you think about it are more prone illnesses with that involved.
Scomo stuffed up from the beginning, now the States are suffering never mind who is in charge.

Re: Covid Vacs
Des, could be worse you could be in NZ where the rate is about 2% of the population so far and they are ranked at 127 in the world.
here in Victoria we were going gang busters then the premier heard of one block clotting so stopped the role out for two weeks.
Back on track now but AZ only for over 60's, rest to have the Pfizer.
With new incoming supplies all should be done by years end, almost 7 of the 26 million here vaccinated so far.
But had the EU not put a block on exports we would all be done by October as planed.

Re: Covid Vacs
Yes Vernon saw all that in the news.
But Gladys has some how found ways to control the situation better than any state, must have a very good medical team behind her.
Latest news now 27% of population had one dose with some 16% had second.
Flying doctor service is covering all the outback areas of WA and Northern Territory, fantastic way to get it done.
With incoming Pfizer over next two months there is no reason why all who want cannot have at latest first by October.

Re: Covid Vacs
/HI Victoria.
After watching all those Tasmanian's going swimming in the sea and in the nude yesterday on TV; I'm not surprised you are free of the covid, Did you go in?
Canberra is our saviour, they have locked out N.S.W. so the Monaro Highway to Cooma will be clear of Sydney people, it will be a pity, as it right on the school holidays, and for disaster for the snow fields, but what is more important we don't want that Covid down here.

Re: Covid Vacs
We are due to have some more restrictions removed at midnight.
But have just heard one of the guys from Sydney has tested positive here in Melbourne, so who knows now what will happen.
Feds have now said AZ will be fazed out by October, all over 60should be done by then.
Then from September the Pfizer and Moderna will be given to all others under 60 who have not yet been done.
But word from USA just in is a worry.
Younger person shaving the Pfizer, a number have had sudden heart problems.
Any one with a fatty or suspect heart problem is in danger of a rather nasty reaction.
With AZ it was Blood clots with Pfizer heart problems.
Second shot for us due Monday, then on I will rely on Dr, Gordons elixier to keep me safe.
