Louis ,John in Oz ... his report on Finland says a lot about the NHI. Most civilised countries today of whatever political gender have what is subsisided health care. It is because Britain was one of the fore front countries that brought it into vogue that most in the UK remember it, today it is an accepted and necessary fact of life and would imagine it would be one of last things to go, standards may drop through having too many customers,which it may well do. What I found interesting about his report was the price of petrol which almost corresponds to the retail price worldwide which shows that although a socialist state they are still taking their wack out of it, also shows the power of the oil company's in being able to enforce the price at the bowser. Louis, we are not going to lose it, that is why Salford Royal is having another TWO HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS being spent on it.
The BIG Problem is, more and more people who have never paid into it are pouring into the country and using it.
The last two times I have stayed in hospital here I have been the only Englishman on the ward, all the others were immigrants. and they were filthy disgusting animals, They stand on the toilet seat and crap on the systern and the seat and floor. The bathroom was a cess pit. I felt very sorry for the Staff who had to continuously clean it all up.
I was glad to get out of there,
A&E full of drunks and druggies, A separate unit should be made for them and made to pay, if they can afford to get drunk or full of drugs then they can afford to pay when they overdose, Leave A&E for the accidents and illnesses .
No one should get free treatment until they have paid into it for five years. If they want to come here then get Insurance,
If I go to the States I have to have Insurance. so the immigrants here should also have Insurance.
Then we would have a Better NHS.

Brian RE; QA Hospital Portsmouth , a comment made by a Phillipino Registrar was , we have a special ward in Manilla that would take 75% of thguys in A & E , it is 10 metres x 10 metres has bars on all 4 sides , and you check out in the morning by paying the judge

When I was in Croatia a month ago I had reason to attend my sons GP I presented E111 and signed in to see doctor.The doctor gave me a prescription and told me to present it to receptionist for her to stamp it and pay her 10 Kuna (£1.20) a further 10 Kuna to pay to chemist on receipt of antibiotics.

that is the hospital my son is the Hepetology Consultant for Liver diseases,
and Portsmouth has a big problem with heavy drinking and the associated Liver Diseases. many are terminal , nothing can be done for them as they have gone too far to be saved.

First that plaque is undated, unsigned with no explanation of who the individual is or what he or she is doing in I assume Wales?

Secondly. I wrote in connection to my observations in one hospital (and posted a link to back up what could have sounded like an outrageous claim of piano music played in a hospital ect.) not on the condition of all hospitals in the fifty states, not even about all hospitals within my state.

Thirdly I wrote because there have been numerous complaints posted by members about unsatisfactory hospital and doctor service. Complaints about the parking and the high cost, bedded in a ward with non-anglo patients who had not been potty trained to western or acceptable shared bathroom behavior.

And I do believe not to long ago you raised comments not to favorable on the Welsh NHS. If I am mistaken please accept my apologies.

I enjoy a lot of your posts as you can tell by my "thanks" and "like", but just to post an unsigned photo of a sign that could have been posted by anyone, anywhere is not on. What does it add to a sensible debate? It enflames those who dislike all things American, much as the ignorant hate all Poms, English, or Limy, without having met any. Sorry but I think it is below you.

P.s. The BBC today posted a column bout the 2,400 deaths during the 1980-90s from contaminated blood issued to British patients. I did not make this my number fourth comment because it is claimed the NHS bought the contaminated blood from US convicts who had unknown (but not checked for) by the NHS, contracted HIV and Hepatitis. Why? Because, I wasn't comparing the US medical system to the NHS, but I am comparing my criticism to that sign.

Just for your info and others too:

It is against the US Federal law to turn anybody, from anywhere, from emergency treatment, this includes the millions of illegals in the US. Be this a terrible accident or a case of the flu.

This will also apply to the roughly 23 million Americans who stand to lose medical coverage if "Trump care" is passed negating important aspects of "Obama care".

This means that the costs will come out of the national purse which can only be funded by massive income tax increases at a time when massive cuts to income tax are being put forward by Trump. "Trump Care" has passed in our lower house (Congress) and currently stalled in the upper house (Senate).

Thank God, I'm a Senior and none of my family have a preexisting condition. Cancer, Heart problems, lower-back problems, birth defects, migraine, asthma, ect.

Hi Rod I was veering off course.
I don't know if you have watched the long running UK TV comedy program , only fools and horses.Two market traders brothers always hoping to strike it lucky. Del Boy saying to his brother , this time next year...
