Joseph, I think that luck comes to us when we least expect it. Your doctor seems to be part of that. Twice I have been brought back and both times it was because of the right doctor and team. First in 2005 when I was half a dozen steps into a stress test at my cardiologist's rooms adjoining our local hospital. A flashing lights/siren to our major hospital 50 kms away and one of our most brilliant heart surgeons successfully did a quintuple bi-pass that is still working well. Second, 2012 previous prostate radiation caused hemorrhage in my bowel. Ambulance called and again hooked up to blood transfusions at our local hospital (fourteen packs in all) and another screaming trip down the Mountain. It was 3am when a team got me in to the op theatre, located the source and closed it. Everything I need is covered under our 'national' health with affordable co-payments.
I sincerely wish you well and with the generous consideration and care of your doctor, that you will participate in an easily affordable participation in the new medication.

    Hi Joe.
Sorry to hear about your problems mate, I was wondering where you were, some people drop off for a month or two. I hope that those drugs help out, I think that anyone who take part in drug testing should be given the drugs either for free or at least cheaper. When I was having radiation treatment for my Prostate cancer I took part in an experiment, it wasn't successful but I was pleased to have helped. I now have an implant once a month did cost $1,700 now reduced to $1,200 but the health system pays as on a pension. I do hope that you get the pills on the health system after helping with the experiment. Look after yourself Joe not many of us good guys left.
    Cheers Des

Joe think you are very conversant with the fishing industry. Do you see any future in such if the uk resumes control of its own waters. Are the uk fishing owners likely to start building up again believe you belong Lowestoft so probably hear more than most. Keep up with the treatment. Cheers JWS.

Sorry to hear about your problem Joseph and hope that your new treatment brings lasting relief. I have had prostate cancer for about 6 years now and it is kept under control by an injection every 3 months, I think it costs about £270 a throw. We have paid in all our working lives for it unlike these pregnant tourists from Nigeria who cost the NHS a fortune and never paid a penny into the system.
    All the best.....Alec.

No , three weeks ago i had to go to the Walton Neuroe Center in Liverpool for my six monthly visit , while in the waiting area , a nurse gave me a form to fill in with about thirty questions on , to which i knuckled down and watched the wife fill in ,and gave it back to the nurse who took it into the treatment room , ten minutes later we were called in out of turn i am sure , after all the usual tests and questions the Doctor said to me with a beaming smile ,( i had told him that my mediication was getting less and less effective ) that there was a new drug that had just finnished clinicel trials and the results were very promising , it involved a few hundred people over fourteen months , nobody had had any bad side effects only minor ones , all had at least a twenty five per cent improvment , would i be interested in joining a small group of people to carry on the tests ?,, i jumped at it , so after signing half a dozen forms i would start in a couple of days , one capsule at night before bed . The fiirst morning woke , got up , showered , dressed , made the bed , in a quarter of the time it normaly takes me ,i had NO tremors , NO shuffling , NO rooting to the spot ,NOTHING , and thats how it was for three blissful days , and now exept the tremors came back but not as bad , 50% less, the fly in the ointment is they are veryexpensve and even i may not get them after the six months , buut at the moment i am just enjoying life again . JOE.

THINKING OF YOU: Best wishes. Keith.

Alec, those injections are good. Had them for 12 months after radiation 8 years ago and now get a blood test for PSA and Androgens every 9 months. It is all good and the Cancer Centre says any untoward increase will be responded by those injections. They were costing over A$1,000 9 years ago but were paid for under our NHS. Cheers, Richard
