Brian I attend the pharmacy at Aintree hospital on a regular basis and I have never seen money changing hands no matter the age of the patient,I don't think they have a system in place for accepting money. At the Royal in Liverpool the pharmacy is a Lloyds,it's a proper chemist,I don't know what the situation is there regards paying,Ive never seen money change hands there unless people are signing as unemployed or whatever. The prescriptions are hospital issue and cannot be taken to an outside chemist,I had a prescription from my doctor and they could not take that at Lloyds in the Royal.

    Hi Jim
we have paid for a Hospital issued prescription for years at the Pharmacy in the Hospital. both at the Bolton Royal and at Salford Royal, they are run by Lloyds.
Only exceptions are the Pensioners, Children and unemployed. same as any other Chemist shop.
These cannot be used outside the Hospital as last time Lloyds in the hospital did not have that one medication so I had to go to my Doctor to get another prescription.
    Cheers
    Brian

Well as John is sharing his good news mine is Simply this I have been unable to walk for almost 2 years now after a very silly slight fall . At the end of September 2014 I was tucked into a hospital bed I'm basically ignored until November as far as rehabilitation went it started at the end of November lasted for 4 weeks and then was totally ruined by inadequate and hopeless carers supplied by a local care company who have now lost the Hampshire County Council contract and so they should have done . Home physio wasn't quite working well at all and I inquired of a local private physiotherapist who said you need intensive physiotherapy at a neuro physiotherapy inpatient facility . There is a local one who is highly recommended by the rugby football union and by the Jockey Club for putting back together broken rugby players and smashed up jockeys . It isn't cheap you are looking at £4,000 a week . I have been sponsored by a mutch maligned local NHS Trust so this is the one and only golden opportunity to get back On My Feet what a wonderful day
