JC we were a funny lot then & naive. I was told to spray with insect repellent which I did talk about sting ones ding a ling but it worked.

galley boy! can i have a word john? yes ! well i think i have sandys don't tell the lads!! no thats private !!! how do you get rid of them john!!! right get to the shower shave everthing of and put loads of this on your knackers? so after a short time deck crowd all lined up in the alleyway sceems unmercifull galley boy screeming back to his cabin i turned to the lads old spice works every time!!!!!

yes john many different cures the best was always the blue unction but if one got them they spread like bloody wildfire on a shell tanker a fireman alky thought it was fun to throw his crabs on the cabin and deck boys he was not in the best of health but I have never mentioned this part before although I have toldthe story but the final cure for the prat was very smallso you could hardly see them fishing hooks in his burgoo he paid of one sick barsteward regards cappy

In 1957 my Mate had the Sandy Mcnabs in Liverpool, There was an all night Chemist shop up on Lime Street, he wanted me to go with him to get some Ble Unction. I stood by the door as he went to the counter, the shop was full of people,
He shouted in a big loud voice, "Can I have some Blue Unction for the Crabs please. " everyone looked at him.
"Its not for me" he shouted, "Its for him by the door" pointing at me. Everyone looked at me, so I legged it out and ran down Lime Street to the `Big House.` for a bevy.
