Re: Is it really this bad?
Is it really this bad?
Speaking with my brother in law in London last night. What he told me sounded very bad, but wonder if he is correct or just being a bit reactive.
His wife, a few years older than him, fell in a supermarket. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital where an X Ray was taken of her hip region, she was then sent home in what he described as abject agony. Four days later his doctor called him to say his wife has a severely cracked hip. He instructed him to keep her warm and give her pain killers until the hospital can see her.
She is unable to move the pain being so bad, he then contacted the hospital to find out when she will be seen.
He was informed it will be a further three weeks as the hospital is very busy, and after all she is 86!
Years ago the NHS and British hospitals were considered to be amongst the worlds best, the envy of many countries.
Has it really got this bad or is he exagerating a bit? HD JOHN.
.
Yes it is John,
We now have so many immigrants flooding in full of all kinds of ilnesses and disease that the hospitals cannot cope with this influx. On top of that they are breading and more and more people are demanding more and more treatments. The Health Service cannot sustain itself due to the several millions of people coming here and also Health Tourists also clog up the system.
This not a rascist rant , it is a fact that the Government and the people of this country dont see it that way.
When the NHS was set up in 1948 the population was around 45,000,000 now we have 75,000,000.
In 12 weeks the popluation of Rumania and Bulgaria will want to come to live in `England`.
Cameron promised to cut immigration but nothing has happened, more and more are flooding in, We do not have jobs, housing, Doctors, Hospitals, schools, services etc to cater
for all those people, The country is FULL.
I just wish that Politicians had more Intelligence.

Re: Is it really this bad?
Since my partner had a stroke seven months ago we have nothing but praise for the NHS -Clean hospitals, fantastic caring staff, tremendous back-up rehabilitation staff(almost to the point of being over whelming sometimes!).
I suppose it's a post code lottery- but I can't be bothered getting into that argument about Middle England again. I must obviously be living in a different U.K to everybody else...
Well done NHS !Ambulance.gif

Re: Is it really this bad?
I attended hostpital last Thursday for a foot scan, lovely, clean and modern with work still going on for improvement.Incidently I passed the old hostpital on the way where I had been a patient on a number of occasions, this place was an ex workhouse with the Nightingale wards, whilst I couldn't fault the treatment there the place itself did not lend itself for modern day care. They are about to build a new hostpital in Liverpool patients will have a single room with en-suite facilities so I cant say "are things realy that bad" not here in Liverpool anyway.
Regards.

Re: Is it really this bad?
I was Not critisizing the NHS, they do a wonderful job of caring for us, but in certain parts of the country the system is grossly overloaded and many hospitals even with all the hard work by Nurses, Doctors and staff, resourses cannot cope with the overload.
My own son, a Consultant ,has to work a 12 hour day to keep his appointment list down.
The NHS is still the best system in the world, but the world seems to take advantageof it.
I was in hospital in February in Honolulu, wonderful treatment but a Bill of $51,456 US Dollars.
So a Health tourist can fly to Britain, go "sick" on holiday and have his treatment free and save a lot of money.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: Is it really this bad?
yes Brian the hospital bills here in the USA are one of the leading causes of bankruptcy a number of old people who get sick and know its futile to go on . commit suicide . when I lived in a retirement community in leesburg there where a couple of people took their own lives by shooting themselves on the golf course in the early morning or late evening .and some do a double . husband and wife .
