Hi Roger.
You saw the same man, Dr Ferguson that I did, but my wife was in the room at the time he told me I had the C, My reading was 10 he suggested surgery but I then went to see a Dr now Profesor Bull in Westmead who later set up the Nepean cancer clinic. He said about the watch and see, but mine went up to 19 in a month, so went through the same as you three months radiation. Only that I volunteered for an experiment they were about to undertake, I had to take this thick muck called Sucrafed or something like that twice a day, and keep a chart of my toilet drops, the experiment was to see if they could stop the burning of the stomach linening, after my radiation treatment finished I had to go to the Prince of Wales for a colonoscopy, not something I would take up as a pastime. A Profesor Davies who did it said that experiment had been a failiure. It wasn't the colonoscopy that cheesed me off it was having to drink that foul stuff for three months.

Des mate, that is the problem there is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to Prostate Cancer, each individual has to undergo what the doc thinks is best. Sadly sometimes it does not work. Hope things are all Ok with you now.

Hi John.
I don't let it bother me, the only time I have to bother is once every three months I go for a hormone implant, [cost $1,200] thank god for the pensioner card, cost's me nothing. The needle is about the size of a small screwdriver as the implant is about the size of a small pea, but the doc gives me a a smaller needle with a pain smother first.
Then I forget all about it for another three months.
Just look after yourself John and don't let the bugger get you down, and carry on as normal, which is sending in funny stories.

A chap I know down here has the same thing and he is now 85, been ongoing for about 10 years now. It is amazing just how far medical science has come over the years. As you say never let it get to you, keep smiling and the world will smile with you.

This doctor as a lot to say about sex and how it can be a cure from headaches to breast cancer she says she is 46 and her husband is 64 and they have sex at least once a day (lucky him) and she raves on that it it helps cardiovascular health and stress .She as also publisheda book called Anti - Ageing Benifits of Sex

There is the adage, 'use it or lose it', maybe she is right. As to the sex bit, not so sure about that, I still ended up with Prostate Cancer after a life time of horizontal dancing, that was good, the Cancer not so.

She must be a very light sleeper no matter how quiet he is some mornings as he tries to sneak out to take the dog for a walk. On the flip side, it could be all worth while if the health benefits were as described. I should have joined the library!
