I agree, hugely expensive talking shop, members on huge salaries and exhorbitant expenses. How on earth can it be viable to upift the whole shooting match every few weeks and move to another location, just to keep the French happy.

Just imagine people, how the EU will look if it grows from 27 members, to about 36 or so, many bordering Russia.
How I judge a country these days, is by the number of people trying to get into it to live, regardless of it's political system. It's a similar thing when looking at countries that have people trying to get out.

No doubt the EU will continue to grow, but at what expense?

The concept of a common market is nothing new, such ideas have been around in other parts of the globe.
When UK went into it, it did so with gov eyes wide open, though the public may not have been so well informed.
Heath the piano man was the culprit back in the early 70's.

But changes for some were not popular, such as complying with EU rules on a number of items.
It also removed thee right from UK to chose which countries it traded with.
But for those who like the Costa del a lot it was easy to go to and from.
That has gone and I would suggest it is from this lot that much of the complaints come from, but you will never find all the people happy all the time.

The UK prime ministers billionaire wife does not pay a penny in UK taxes though she is resident in the country.
Every person on this forum pays UK taxes why is it that the wife of the man in charge of UK policy and has his finger on the Nuclear launch button think it is reasonable that his wife does not pay UK taxes.
Does that suggest or represent a fair and honest society.
I note plenty of complaints regarding boat immigration but can you blame them for wanting to exploit the benefits system when the man in charge of the country allows his wife to cheat the system?

The prime ministers wife of course pays taxes .......probably many thousands more than a motor home recently discovered to which nobody seems to know anything about .........lol R683532

The UK opposition leader today in the news said there are no plans should he win the next erection to rejoin EU.

The EU regarding emissions appears to be on some form of back track, maybe after the comments by UK PM.
There appears to now be many who see that some of the concepts regarding removing Co2 is in doubt.

Without it we cannot survive,

But one wonders at some in senior positions regarding so called 'climate change;..
The head of our group last week made two very odd comments.

"Bush fires are normal but not natural, and we intend by 2050 to remove all traces of Co2 and Methane from the atmosphere"

Bush fires are very normal and certainly natural, often caused by lightning strikes.
With no Co2 plants will not be able to convert that to oxygen, so what do we breath then???
