Computer AI (artificial intelligence)
There was an interesting article in yesterdays Daily Mail about AI.
Scientists want a ban on an more development on AI until there is an industry Standard at te moment companies re developing AI without any controls.
AI is used now in many arenas, weapons technology, entertainment etc.
There are concerns that kids in school are using the AI to do there homework and research and compose essay with the spelling mistake to make it was compiled by the pupils.
Creators oif AI admit that they do not understand or predict or reliably control AI.
Some fear that AI, if development is unchecked and allowed to develop uncontrolled, it could eventually destroy mankind.
More than 1000 individuals have signed the letter asking for a pause in development until an agreed cod can be implemented.
Sounds Like science fiction.

AI the Future of Accounting I wonder if the Post Office used AI and started to have post office staff arrested for stealing and false accounting. Turns out it was a fault in the computer programme which they denied for years. Sadly it destroyed the lives of many who operated high st post office services. Seems the Post Office is being rather slow to pay compensation to those effected. Is the Post office is now a private limited company?

Re: Computer AI (artificial intelligence)
There is a difference between AI and accounting programs.
Accounting program is data in data out, or as some people say garbage in garbage out.
AI programs operate at basic thought and reasoning levels.

Re: Computer AI (artificial intelligence)
Well much better than the way our Post office was done over, we had a woman who boosted profits by $billions by streamlining , not sacking she gave some really dear watches to two of her Administrators for a job well done, the Govt sacked her, within two years the PO was in strife, so much so that they are now talking about only delivering the post only two days a week.

Re: Computer AI (artificial intelligence)
Here in Melbourn it has been discovered that some form of AI system is writing resumes for people applying for work.
It all looks good on paper but at the interview they come undone.
The resume is so sophisticated the applicant is unable to answer questions about what is in the resume.
But for us the best example of AI is both our state and federal politicians, if they had half a brain they would be dangerous.
