Rmt union
well the union are setting a new order re the ist day in a series of actions ...JUNE THE 6TH......to most of us this is a very significant date in our lives ......led by there chief exec on a salary of150000 pounds per annum plus perks ....i now see the rail workers in this country ending in the same state as the miners steelworkers shipyard workersand seamen ....it will take time but they have now doomed there own jobs.....when a man can get from to two points in the uk ...by flying out to spain and back far cheaper than than do a train journey .... the writing is on the wall.....the government have already paid equal to 600 pounds per houshold in the uk to keep the trains running .....no member was furloghed during the pandemic ......the trains have lost over 25 percent of there customers over the lastr few years as prices are absolutely cuckoo land figures the average train driver is drawing 59000 pounds a week for an average 4 day week a nurse 31000pounds
millions of folk are to be stopped getting to work or go on holiday etc ....did they smirk these so called union leaders when the chose D DAYS DATE THE 6TH OF JUNE ....they have put the noose round the necks of there union members ....they will soon push them of the cliff.....it appears they cannot realise that the general public are not sheep to be driven one way or another by unions hell bent on bringing a nation to a standstill.....thats my comment on the leaders who draw an average salary 3 times there members ....who are the sheep in reality......cappy R683532

Re: Rmt union
Who owns the rail tracks in the UK? Well the date for the FA cup semi final was known well in advance , agree the teams that were to play in that game were not known but great planning by the rail network.
Liverpool and Manchester City football fans have been advised not to attempt to travel by rail to and from the FA Cup semi-final on Easter Saturday, 16th April, because of major railway improvements taking place. On that weekend, because of essential upgrades taking place at multiple locations along the West Coast Main Line. The train companies lost ticket sales for that weekend likely at least about 70,000 return journeys.
Try getting a flight these days Easy Jet and Ryanair along with others cancel flights without warning. Security at airports is a nightmare. Reports are of people being delayed by upto 4 hours trying to get through security.
The RMT certainly would not be my union of choice, but the RMT are not the people who set the Ticket prices. As the powers that be try and price the motorists of the road or buy Electric(another con job) The future of train travel should start to show an increase in passenger numbers. Well maybe not in Scotland
On the news yesterday they were celebrating the opening of the Elizabeth line. It took 13 years to build this and it was 2£ billion over budget. Meanwhile the service between Liverpool to Manchester and Leeds is still running on the same tracks as Stephensons Rocket.
